Flute2. It is Joachim Paetzold’s recorder – a strange-sounding instrument with a loud lower register and a scale of two octaves, which is easily subjected to amplification and interacts well with electronics. Over the past fifteen years, it has enabled an interesting repertoire – interesting to such artists as Fausto Romitelli, Oscar Bianchi, Stefano Gervasoni and Liza Lim. Several others have also been attracted thanks to Anna Petrini – a Swedish flautist and a graduate of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (Dan Laurin’s class). With the support of Kulturkontakt Nord, Petrini ordered three compositions for the bass Paetzold recorder. One of them (Superb Imposition by Dominik Karski) will be performed for the first time at the Musica Electronica Nova festival.
