Symphony Orchestra of W. Lutosławski Philharmonic
is heir to the rich musical traditions of Wrocław, which enjoyed the heyday of its cultural life in the 2nd part of the 19th century with such illustrious artists as R. Wagner, J. Brahms, E. Grieg, G. Mahler, M. Bruch, I. J. Paderewski, P. Sarasate and E. Ysaÿe visiting the town.
W. Lutosławski Philharmonic in Wrocław was founded in 1954, and was most often managed by well-known musicians who simultaneously held the post of the Principal Conductor. At present, the Philharmonic is managed by Andrzej Kosendiak. Maestro Jacek Kaspszyk is Artistic Director, while Daniel Raiskin and Zbigniew Pilch permanent guest conductors.
